Comentarii: 0 |

Soap Nuts Natural Shampoo Recipe Posted: 23 Feb 2011 06:37 AM PST Natural shampoo from Soap Nuts:: DIYI have found few products that live up to the bill like soap nuts. I first started reading about soap nuts and the great natural cleansing benefits they had a few months ago. I read that I could make a natural shampoo and body wash at home from their skins. Why should you choose to make natural shampoo from soap nuts?I think there are a number of reasons why soap nut natural shampoo rocks:
Because your water supply may fluctuate, you can make as little or as much as you can depending on your resources. I was amazed after I learned this recipe! It is so simple! 4 steps to natural shampoo:1. Simply place 8-10 soap nut skins in a small cotton drawstring sack. 2. Second, you need to bring to a boil 3-4 cups of water, then add the cotton bag to the boil for 15 minutes. This process will pull out the saponin from the soap nut skins, producing a soapy foundation. 3. After you have finished boiling the skins, remove the pot from the stove top to cool. Remove the cotton bag only after the water has cooled. 4. This is a great opportunity to re-use a shampoo container to keep your new shampoo. Soap nut shampoo has a much more watery consistency than traditional store bought shampoo.
Natural Shampoo… and bodywash?Don’t fret, this recipe will leave your hair naturally clean and can double as body wash. If this is your first time using soap nut shampoo, you will find that a little goes a long way and that your hair will take a little time to adjust. It will probably take about a week for your hair to become adjusted. If you use too much, you will find that your hair will dry out. Just use less next time and your hair will balance out.
It’s no worse than soap in the eyes, just something to keep in mind. Though I have not experienced anything too abrasive about it, I have heard of some people who are a bit sensitive burning their eyes, though they tell me it is no more agonizing to them than getting regular soap in their eyes. So that’s the homemade natural shampoo recipe.
